A foundry is a place where metals are cast into shapes by melting them into a liquid, pouring the metal in a mould, and removing the mould material or casting after the metal has solidified as it cools. In this process, parts of desired shapes and sizes can be formed.
Quintess International's daily melting metal process involves intense heating (up to 2000°
C). Foundries are one of the most consistent performers in the manufacturing recycling
movement, melting and recasting millions of tonnes of waste metal each year to make new
durable goods. Melting and pouring metal can appear to be scenes from history books, yet
it is where some of the most interesting science takes place.
